    [ETC2019] Les listes!!

Again apologies for the English Hi! Fair enough, I am going off what he was saying . I know Mani really enjoyed the game. Myself I only observed the last 10 seconds - I was busy with my own game. It was a great round anyway - I think we showed how evenly matched we are. It was a shame that penalties were applied and decided the event - I'm sure next year there won't be any. Congratulations on your placing and the shield, we are already looking forward to the inevitable rematch next year. As England we never considered gaming the clock. Unfortunately Mani was slow in his game vs Russia and he admitted it (not on purpose but was in combat turn 1 etc). He knows some ways he could have sped up but a combination of tiredness/pressure etc stopped him from doing so. You always do need to watch the time however and having coaches who can get refs is important. I consider: The table the list building the pairing the mind game the tiredness mangement opponent knowledge meta/game knowledge As important skills in the game.

    [ETC2019] Les listes!!

Sorry for the english, l I do not speak french . As a member of team England I thought i'd add my opinion on the russian penalty situation. The russians are very fair and excellent opponents for us. There was no complaints from us with regards to their players. Stepan and Josh had an argument but it was resolved (unfortunately against us - cost us 20 points). The time penalty was because Mani (our IG / BA player) and the russian Ork player only got to turn 2 in 4 hours. This was unacceptable in the eyes of the ref on both sides, so we both got a penalty. however, it was our first penalty so it was added at the end of the event - not a round point reduction. It was the Russians 3rd penalty (they had 2 from the round before) and so incurred a penalty of -15 to the round score. If the game would have continued naturally, I would have thought of it would be heavily in Mani's favour as he had most of his army left vs a few orks and the smasha guns. Instead on turn 2 it ended 3-17 to the Russian Ork (who is an excellent guy and player and this definitely was not his fault!) I do not think we have any information from other teams facing Russia before us (or at least I didn't hear any). We were prepared for their lists - we knew what they did and they were 'off-meta' but I think we knew the tricks and what to avoid (an example is we knew our Tau, could not play their GK / DA / SW due to - hit modifiers and very intense psychic pressure) . It was a very tough round with good players on both sides. It was an epic clash and it was a shame we could not get the few things we needed because of time. Well done to the french team you guys did great, looking forward to see you again soon.
