Serve the Emperor With Rules For Loyalist Legios in Adeptus Titanicus

ATPreOrderPreview-Aug5-TitanicusHeader10

Adeptus Titanicus players whose allegiance lies with the Emperor of Mankind have a brand new resource coming this weekend for their games. Loyalist Legios is the first of a new kind of book for the game of mighty Titan battles, detailing the Titan Legions and Knight Houses which fight to defend the Imperium.

AT LoyalistLegions Mar2 Content1x

This is the essential reference for all Loyalists, full of background and rules. Let’s take a look at the complete contents…

AT LoyalistLegios Apr6 Contents1nc

Talk about packed! The book, when coupled with the Adeptus Titanicus rulebook, contains everything you need to assemble and use a Loyalist battlegroup in your games. It starts with revised and updated rules for how to assemble your force, including where the new Warmaster Heavy Titan fits in. There’s also a page of background about this mighty war machine, and even a technical diagram with some stats for it.

AT LoyalistLegions Apr6 Content2j

The next section details every maniple available to Loyalist battlegroups – 18 of them, collected in one place for the first time, and fully updated to make this the number one place to find these rules.

Next up, and forming the bulk of the book, are the many Loyalist Titan Legions and Knight Households.

16 Titan Legions are detailed, ranging from the famous to the obscure. Each gets background, alongside a mixture of special rules that let you represent their particular character and specialisations on the tabletop. These include Legio Traits, Stratagems, Wargear, and Personal Traits for your Princeps. Take the Legio Trait for the Iron Skulls of Legio Metalica, for example.

AT LoyalistLegios Apr6 Boxout3chs

Legio Metalica’s rules are appearing for the first time in this volume, and like the other Legios, there are some stunning full-colour illustrations of their war engines as well.

AT LoyalistLegios Apr6 Art2hcs

If you prefer fielding dozens of Imperial Knights, the book has you covered too, with background, rules, and illustrations for 12 Households, including four that are new to the game – House Coldshroud, House Terryn, House Procon Vi, and House Krast. Each includes a table of Knightly Qualities to personalise a High Scion or Seneschal, like this quality for House Terryn.

AT LoyalistLegios Apr6 Boxout4nvbhs

The rest of the book collects together and updates a bunch of essential rules and information, including all 50 Stratagems that Loyalist forces can make use of, comprehensive weapons charts, Titan upgrades, and the rules for the Psi-Titans of the Ordo Sinister.

6 Details You Might Have Missed on the Towering Warmaster Titan

ATPreOrderPreview-Aug5-TitanicusHeader10

The thunderous steps of the Warmaster Titan are fast approaching ahead of its pre-order on Saturday. If you’re anything like us, you’ve barely been able to tear your eyes away from the majesty of this absolute unit.

AT WarmasterKitFocus Apr9 Content1c

While it’s entirely understandable to be distracted by the two colossal Suzerain-class Plasma Destructors on its arms,* there’s a wealth of smaller details all over this model that you may not have seen on a first pass. Here are some of the not-so-little things we like best about the Warmaster.

1. More Weapons

Shocking, isn’t it, that something called the ‘Warmaster’ would have more than just a few weapons stashed away on its monolithic carapace? The mantle of Ardex-Defensor cannons atop its body is fairly hard to miss, but did you notice the Revelator missile launcher packed in above its head?

AT WarmasterKitFocus Apr9 Content2p

2. Multiple Face Options

If you’re going to be looming down at all the other war machines on the battlefield, you don’t want them all looking up at the same face, do you? Perhaps you want to embody the chivalric virtues of a noble Knight House, or maybe you’d rather put the fear of the Emperor into your opponents with a giant skull-inspired grimace.

AT WarmasterKitFocus Apr9 Content3h

3. Even More Weapons

You didn’t think we were done, did you? You may remember from our previous look at the Warmaster’s rules for Adeptus Titanicus that it also has two shoulder weapons, which you can choose from six possible options. As if you needed any more clues as to how big these enormous machines are, many of the auxiliary shoulder weapons are the full-size arm cannons from Warhound Scout Titans.

AT WarmasterKitFocus Apr9 Content4i

4. The Void Shield Array

An iconic feature of Imperial Titans is their crackling void shields, esoteric fields of energy that absorb and divert enemy attacks. While most Titans are able to keep their shield generators inside their carapace, the sheer size of the Warmaster requires rows of emitters all along the top of its torso.

AT WarmasterKitFocus Apr9 Content5z

While this gives it the defensive power to shrug off attacks from even the Titan-killing Knights Atrapos, the array is sure to be a juicy target for anyone able to pierce the shields.

5. The Sheer Size of the Thing

Yes, it’s not so much a detail as the entire model, but the epic size of the Warmaster Titan cannot be understated. A few pictures hardly do it justice, although the cover art for Loyalist Legios (which you may have seen a few Sunday previews ago) makes a good effort, so here’s a handy size comparison chart to give you an idea of what your enemies will be dealing with across the table.

JanPreview Jan23 AT Comparison51vb

AT warmasterKitFocus Apr9 SizeComp30r

6. Even Its Knees Have Guns

They might not be large enough to pose a serious threat to other Titans, but how many other war machines can you seriously say have guns in their knees?

AT WarmasterKitFocus Apr9 Content6q

Make sure you pre-order your Warmaster Titan on Saturday to add this behemoth to your battlegroup. If you’re undecided on how to paint your Titans, why not try the striking colour scheme of the Legio Ignatum, whose history we recently looked at.

* They are, after all, some of the largest plasma weapons the Adeptus Mechanicus have ever devised.
