  1. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/06/09/the-slaves-to-darkness-are-out-to-conquer-the-new-edition-and-heres-how-theyll-do-it/

  5. Make your Plague Weapons even more deadly with the Lord of Virulence

    6Cx5Qo4SxQa6g3Us.jpg

Taking to the battlefield to level his millenia of martial experience against the enemies of Nurgle, the Lord of Virulence is a brand new Character for Death Guard armies, and he’s arriving for pre-order on Saturday. Seeing as it’s Death Guard week, we’re giving you a peek through the fleshy, poxy curtain at this support-focused HQ choice.

    40kDG LordOfVirulence Jan14 Image1ge

Clad in ancient Terminator armour and with a vicious twin plague spewer in hand, the Lord of Virulence is a supporting commander par excellence with a host of abilities for improving the Marines they lead into battle. As an expert in artillery and long-range bombardment, the ranged Plague Weapons carried by nearby troops reach new levels of efficiency thanks to the Lord’s Master of Destruction ability.

    40kDG LordOfVirulence Jan14 Boxout1g

Combined with Plague Weapons’ ability to re-roll wound rolls of 1, your Core units will have an easier time than ever inflicting a barrage of wounds that bypass the flimsy armour of the Corpse-Emperor’s teeming masses. If dishing out mortal wounds is on the cards, their peerless ability to direct artillery fire allows them to reduce the cost of the Blight Bombardment Stratagem by 1CP.

    40kDG LordOfVirulence Jan14 Boxout2o

As recipients of one of the Mantles of Corruption, Lords of Virulence are graced by the hand of Mortarion himself, the chosen son of Nurgle, and elevated above their peers to represent the lethal contagions of their spiritual grandfather’s garden. Flanked by thunderous war machines and the deadly legions of the Death Guard, few can withstand the furious torrent of their combined firepower.

Make sure to snap up your own Lord of Virulence when the new and improved Death Guard arrive for pre-order on Saturday. Will you be fielding one in your own Plague Company? Let us know via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and be sure to stay tuned for more information this week at Warhammer Community. Tomorrow, we’re going crusading…

étonnant de souvenir la preview disait qu'il buffait les machines démon une autre règles à venir ?

changement du stratagème de bombardement attendu je me demande comment le biologus va booster les grenades

  6. 7 of the most gruesome new rules for the Death Guard

    6Cx5Qo4SxQa6g3Us.jpg

This week we’re previewing a whole host of miasmic morsels from the new Death Guard codex, which is available to pre-order this Saturday. To start things off, we’ve picked seven* of our favourite new rules to share with you – after all, Grandfather Nurgle loves sharing…

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image1mdw

    1. Mortarion’s Warlord Trait(s)

Back in December, we gave you a first look at the new datasheet for Mortarion – check it out if you haven’t already – but many questions were left unanswered. What, for instance, is his Warlord Trait? We’re glad you asked.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image2did

That’s right, the Daemon Primarch has not one, but three traits when he takes to the field as your Warlord. We’ve already seen how tough the chosen of Nurgle are thanks to their Disgustingly Resilient rule, but now that he’s Revoltingly Resilient too** it’ll be even harder to put a scratch on the favoured son of Nurgle. Combined with his Host of Plagues ability giving him a choice of one more Warlord Trait from among the six Plague Companies, he’s stuffed to bursting with special rules to terrorise your opponents with.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image3yfl

    2.More durable Poxwalkers

Everybody’s favourite shambling sacks of sepsis have always been a mainstay on the table alongside their Plague Marine betters. What the unwise might have seen as a mere meat shield before are about to become a threat to be respected.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image5can

Of particular note is that their close combat prowess is no longer determined by the size of the mob – instead, they hit on a 4+ as standard. Coupled with a new base Toughness of 4, they’re sure to form a dangerous wall of moaning, groaning bodies, daring the enemy to come within their grasp.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image4iwg

You might think all this newfound power comes with a price tag, but they’re even cheaper than before. There’s truly never been a better time to flood the table with the cursed victims of the Walking Pox.

    3. Tougher Death Guard Chaos Lords

Regular Chaos Lords of the Death Guard have cause to rejoice, as they now have the resilience to match their pestilent brothers-in-arms. While originally they had more in common with their unblessed peers among the Traitor Legions, now both Chaos Lords and Sorcerers of the Death Guard have Toughness 5, Contagions of Nurgle, and Disgustingly Resilient to better fit into your armies. No longer will they have to abide such an affront to their pride as matching the Toughness of their False Emperor-worshipping counterparts.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Filler30ys

    4. More Contagions

Speaking of the Contagions of Nurgle, we mentioned last week that each Plague Company will have its own special brand of ‘gift’ to bequeath unto their Warlord. Here are two more for you to salivate over ahead of the full codex release.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image8dgb

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image9jum

    5. Deathshroud Terminators fight harder and run faster

Your choppiest Terminators just got even choppier. While star billing might go to their increased Weapon Skill of 2+, befitting the close combat specialists of the Death Guard, their vicious manreapers won’t be left behind with two new close combat profiles for you to choose from.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image10sew

Neither Elite warriors nor massed Infantry will interrupt the inexorable advance of these silent messengers of Nurgle, and advance they will. The Deathshroud have clearly been doing their cardio, as their heavy Cataphractii Terminator plate no longer slows them down and allows them to advance just as quickly as everyone else.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image11str

Finally, as true heralds of Nurgle’s plagues, Deathshroud Terminators are equipped to spread his concoctions even further than the rest of their brethren, adding three inches to the range of their Contagions of Nurgle ability thanks to the chimes of contagion. Just in case your opponents needed any more reasons to give them a wide berth.

    6. Custom Contagions for your Crusades

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image13sqd

An all-new suite of Crusade rules will take your campaigns of corruption to new heights, with wonderfully thematic Battle Traits and Requisitions to upgrade your units. Of particular note, is the ability to craft and customise your own bespoke Plague to spread among your opponents’ armies. By randomly determining a Vector, an Infection, and a Terminus, you can bring all sorts of unholy effects to bear upon your foes.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image12ijw

Like many Plagues, you also have the option of evolving yours over time, but you’ll need to stay tuned to Warhammer Community to find out how you can do that later this week.

    7. Foetid Bloat-drones fly into close combat

Finally, another unit we mentioned last week has a new lease on life with an upgraded close combat capability thanks to the fearsome fleshmower.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image14nvr

With a horde-spooking maximum of 12 attacks each*** and a new Weapon Skill of 3+, Bloat-drones will now have to think long and hard about whether they want to spread the gifts of Nurgle up close or from afar. They may have lost a Wound but no longer lose effectiveness as they’re damaged, so you have more reason than ever to fly them right across the field and into your enemies’ ranks.

    DeathGuard7NewRules Jan11 Image15fun

Phew, Grandfather Nurgle does indeed provide. That’s all we have for you today, but there’s still plenty more Death Guard content coming this week as we prepare for their pre-orders to go live on Saturday. Keep your eyes peeled for more new details on the upgraded XIV Legion, and let us know on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram what you’re looking forward to in the new codex.

    * Seven is Nurgle’s sacred number, after all.
    ** We’re sensing a theme developing here…
*** Perhaps we should rename them to Blend-drones.

Chaos Space Marines – Why You Need Faith & Fury

    PsyAwk-Sep09-PAHeader-zlw2-1.jpg

Followers of the Ruinous Powers rejoice, for your dark prayers have been answered! Psychic Awakening: Faith & Fury contains loads of new rules for the Chaos Space Marines and today we’re taking a look at some of them.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-Opener30hch.jpg

First up are a selection of Daemon weapons that can be given to your characters instead of any other Artefact of Chaos. Not only are there new weapons dedicated to each of the four Chaos Gods, but there’s also an option for those Warlords that follow Chaos Undivided. For example, G’holl’ax, the Fist of Decay, is a devastating weapon that may be taken by a Nurgle Character armed with a power fist.

    40kFaithFuryCSM_Nov14-Ghollax1yhcs.jpg

As well as the new Daemon Weapons which can be taken by any Chaos Space Marines, the Word Bearers, Night Lords, Alpha Legion, Iron Warriors, Emperor’s Children and World Eaters all get new rules. These six original Traitor Legions each get additional Warlord Traits, Stratagems, Artefacts and Tactical Objectives. Let’s take a look at the new ways that you can bring ruin to the galaxy.

    Word Bearers

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-WordBearers20ycgs.

The Word Bearers were the first heretics, turning from the light of the Emperor to embrace the worship of the Chaos Gods. The Daemonic Whispers Warlord Trait represents the otherworldly guidance that the Word Bearers receive in return.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-DemonicWhispers2jc

As if having extra Command Points wasn’t enough to silence the mewling of the Emperor’s sycophants, then taking a Dark Apostle and upgrading him to know, and be able to chant, an additional Prayer will.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-ApostleDarkCouncil

    Night Lords

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-NightLords21hcg.jp

The Night Lords were born of the dark – fear is their weapon and they show no mercy to the weak. When you are about to wipe out an enemy unit in close combat, use this Stratagem to prevent them from running away.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-ComeForYou4ycgs.jp

The Night Lords also have the perfect answer to those pesky Space Marines Primaris Lieutenants. Let’s see just how noble they are when the range of their aura ability is greatly reduced.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-VoxDaemonicus5ihs.

    Alpha Legion

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-AlphaLegion31hcgf.

It’s entirely possible that you are already playing an Alpha Legion army without realising it, that’s how sneaky they are. Nothing they do is what it seems – they may have already sabotaged an enemy vehicle before the battle even began.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-SabotagedArmoury27

The Alpha Legion are also famous for their use of non-Space Marines operatives. Name your Warlord a Cult Leader and make your cheap, plentiful Chaos Cultists deadlier.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-CultLeader30hcgsa.

    Iron Warriors

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-IronWarriors25ygcf

The Iron Warriors are the undisputed experts at siege warfare.* With the Siege Master Warlord Trait and a few units of Havocs, no enemy bastion will be able to stand before your punishing volleys of fire.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-SiegeMaster8hcgd.j

Since this Warlord Trait also works on vehicles, take a Warpsmith to repair your tanks at the same time as giving them re-rolls to wound. The Iron Warriors have an Artefact that upgrades the Warpsmith’s mechatendrils to MEGA-mechatendrils just in case anyone gets too close to your war machines.

    Emperor’s Children

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-EmpChildren24ycgh.

If you want to get your Emperor’s Children pumped for battle, a regular protein shake isn’t going to cut it. Combat Elixirs are much more useful – apply the effects to a 20-man squad of Chaos Space Marines to get the most bang for your Command Points.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-CombatElixirs10hgc

Their Primarch Fulgrim taught the Emperor’s Children to seek perfection in all things. Help your Warlord attain perfection in combat by equipping him with the Raiment Revulsive.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-RaimentRepulsive32

    World Eaters

    40kLegionFocus_WorldEaters_Image5ks.jpg

Make your World Eaters Warlord even better at spilling blood for the Blood God and claiming skulls for the Skull Throne by naming him as a Disciple of Khorne with this Warlord Trait.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-DiscipleKhorne12hh

Angron, the Primarch of the World Eaters, once carried two mighty chainaxes called Gorefather and Gorechild. The latter is now wielded by Khârn the Betrayer, but you can equip your World Eaters Warlord with the murderous Gorefather.

    40kFaithFuryCSM-Nov14-Gorefather13ycfs.j

All of this is just a glimpse of the bounties that the Dark Gods have provided for their loyal followers in Faith & Fury. The second book in the Psychic Awakening series will be available to pre-order from Saturday – grab yourself some reinforcements now so that you’re ready to continue the long war.

    * The Imperial Fists? Pah! They don’t even have chevrons!
