CitationCodex: Tyranids
All new editions need to start somewhere, and this time, it’s the honour of the Tyranids to begin our calendar of Codex releases with the 120-page Codex: Tyranids.
This is the definitive companion for all Tyranid players, replacing the Index with a fully fleshed-out collection of exciting Detachment rules, glorious miniature showcases, and fascinating lore.
There are datasheets for 47 Tyranid units, six full Detachments with unique abilities, rules, Enhancements, and Stratagems, and all-new Crusade content. To really show off your supplication to the swarm, a luxury special edition version of the Codex will also be available, featuring entirely unique cover art, silver foil details, and fetching purple gilt page edges.
Norn Emissary
The Hive Mind is usually content to direct its swarms from afar, but when a more personal touch is needed, the Norn Emissary is deployed to act as its eyes, ears, and claws on the battlefield. These towering monstrosities are spawned for a single specific purpose, and pack epic levels of speed, strength, and raw psionic power into a single deadly package.
Should your prey prove to be more slippery than expected, assemble the kit as a Norn Assimilator and drag their cowardly hides into the dirt with razor-sharp toxinjector harpoons. This variant trades psychic powers for all-out damage.
Deathleaper
The Hive Mind knows the value of covert assassination when softening up planets for the incoming swarm. When failure is absolutely not an option, the specialised bioform known as Deathleaper is deployed to sow fear and chaos behind enemy lines, using the accumulated experience of a thousand spawnings to plunge its targets into pure terror before hacking them apart.
Lictor
When panic and sabotage need to be sown on a wider scale, Lictors are the Hive Mind’s weapon of choice. They are agile and stealthy creatures, and slip through the defensive lines to slaughter valuable targets
Neurolictor
Neurolictors are a new sub-species of Lictor only starting to appear across the galaxy. This bioform trades raw close combat prowess for insidious mental abilities and projects a psychic miasma that overcomes the enemy and shatters their discipline.
Genestealers
For as long as there has been Warhammer 40,000, there have been Genestealers. The original Tyranid bioform gets a much-deserved makeover with a new kit that reimagines their iconic look in glorious high detail. This time around, you get a full complement of Ymgarl Genestealer heads if the face-tentacle vibe is more your speed.
Termagants
The multitudinous foot soldiers of the Tyranid swarm get some love, as the revitalised Termagants first seen in the Leviathan boxed set get a bonus sprue of special weapons. The box also includes a single Ripper Swarm.
Hormagaunts
The Hormagaunts have been refreshed with incredible new sculpts. Few opponents can stand up to a seemingly endless tide of chittering teeth and claws, and as an added bonus you get a single Ripper Swarm with each box to form into an even smaller, meaner unit.
Biovore
The Biovore has a new spring in its step and is ready to launch Spore Mines all over your next battlefield. These indirect fire platforms have long been the Hive Mind’s answer to distant foes, and you can also build them as flame-spewing Pyrovores to turn long-range shooting into close-quarters dominance.
Combat Patrol: Tyranids
Start your new army with Combat Patrol: Tyranids, a curated collection of units that give you a solid foundation for larger, greater swarms. They’re also an excellent choice for pick-up games of Combat Patrol, leveraging the speed and skill of a Winged Tyranid Prime to pick off critical enemy units while 20 Termagants, five Barbgaunts, three Von Ryan’s Leapers, and a massive Psychophage advance across the field. You also get two Ripper Swarms. Because you can never have too many Ripper Swarms.
Datasheet Cards: Tyranids
This pack of new and updated Datasheet Cards complements Codex: Tyranids. With all of your detachment rules occupying just a single double-page spread, these cards speed up your games with useful unit information at hand without needing to leaf through the Codex. These cards supersede the index cards available online.
Tyranids Dice Set
The Fourth Tyrannic War began with Hive Fleet Leviathan, and now you can celebrate their commitment to eating everything in sight with a pack of 16 Leviathan-themed dice, cast in swirly purple plastic and sporting their pips, and the Tyranid faction logo, in white ink.

Captain with Relic Shield and Lieutenant with Storm Shield
Two heroes from the legendary Indomitus box set are flying solo for the first time. The Captain with Relic Shield is an excellent leader for your Bladeguard Veterans, while the Lieutenant with Storm Shield adds a hero with a nifty Invulnerable Save.
Master of Possession
On the Chaos side, the Master of Possession returns for his own standalone release, bringing his mastery of daemonic spirits, and a backpack that’ll make Salamanders jealous, to the table.

CitationKill Team Annual 2023 – Season of the Gallowdark
The most recent season of Kill Team has come to a close, challenging your operatives to survive in the bowels of the nightmare space hulk Gallowdark. These expansions introduced a wide variety of missions taking advantage of the close confines and unique scenery pieces, and now all of this content is being collected together into a massive 296-page tome.
Kill Team Annual 2023 – Season of the Gallowdark includes all of the rules from the Into the Dark, Shadowvaults, Soulshackle, and Gallowfall expansions, with 10 full kill teams, 45 missions, five Killzone terrain expansions, and a gripping Spec Ops campaign to play through. It’s the ultimate companion for games of Kill Team in close confines.
Fellgor Ravagers
Space hulks are often infested with mutated beastmen braying dark prayers to the Chaos Gods, and these hordes are known as Fellgor Ravagers. Using scavenged equipment and sheer bestial fury, they revel in the close-ranged scrum of the Gallowdark, and will take on any mission to earn glory in the eyes of their patrons.
Hand of the Archon
Elite Kabalite agents known as the Hand of the Archon are an invaluable asset for any lord seeking dominion over Commorragh, as they’re among the few Drukhari who can be trusted to carry out independent missions without immediately betraying their superiors. Their combat skills make them a threat both at range and up close, while they speed around the killzone setting up deadly ambushes and pouncing on unsuspecting operatives.
Hearthkyn Salvagers
Well equipped teams of Hearthkyn rummage through the drifting hulks of voidships for lost technology, valuables, and other prizes. These Kin possess a diverse array of skills to combat any trouble they might find aboard, from explosives experts to information analysts – and their powerful weapons make sure any would-be interruptions are swiftly dealt with.
Inquisitorial Agents
Despite the power afforded by their station, Inquisitors can rarely get much done without a dedicated team of acolytes and assistants to act as their eyes and ears in the field. These Inquisitorial Agents come from all walks of life and differ wildly from each other – represented by this kit having two very different build options for each of the four main operatives.
Killzone Upgrade: Gallowfall
Stage your missions in the chaotic escape pod bays and medical theatres of a dying space hulk in Killzone Upgrade: Gallowfall, containing 18 pieces of terrain for your Gallowdark-themed Kill Team boards. These upgrades bring your killzone to life with all kinds of pods, beds, and gurneys, and are essential for running the Gallowfall series of missions in the new Kill Team Annual 2023 – Season of the Gallowdark.

Bilerot Vomitflesh
Wilhelm von Mitfleisch was on track to becoming one of Blood Bowl’s biggest stars before he let parties and excess get in his way. Down on his luck and riddled with infection, Nurgle took pity on him and transformed him into Bilerot Vomitlfesh.
Now a noxious wrecking ball of a player, Bilerot can be hired by any Favoured of Nurgle team, drenching opposing players in a stream of vomit that is as disgusting as it sounds. Thankfully, he redeems himself time and time again thanks to that delightful Nurgling resting on his shoulder.

Citation
Like many worlds in the vast Imperium, Necromunda is exhausted. Its mineral wealth has been all but entirely excavated by relentless millennia of industry, and even the hazardous byproducts of this process are slowly running dry.
As Necromunda burns in the wake of the Aranthian Succession, the Ironhead Squat Prospectors are scouring the outlands, seeking wells of fermented toxic waste, seams of crystalised promethium run-off, and other prizes hidden deep below the ashen dunes. The most skilled and enterprising treasure-seekers are known as Claim Jumpers, wandering the wastes accompanied by their Techmite Autoveyors.
With a nose for finding unstaked mining sites and sniffing out potential plunder, these hardy explorers trudge the wastes, tools in hand and gem extractor poised to extract treasures. Long-established protocol dictates that any staked resource sites belong to the House that found them, but Claim Jumpers have been known to swipe the goodies before a gang can even set up shop. That power pick is good for more than just digging.
Ironhead Squats utilise a range of technological tools, including a variety of small robots known as Techmites. These are often treated as pets as well as tools, and no Claim Jumper worth their salt would even set foot in the wastes without their trusty Techmite.
These scuttling machine-familiars are loaded with multi-use tools, well-suited to snooping out credits and valuable scrap from nooks and crannies – There’s Always Another Secret, after all.
This pair of resin miniatures will be available to pre-order soon. Stick with us on Warhammer Community to find out what else is coming to Necromunda in the wake of the violence unleashed in the Aranthian Succession – Vaults of Temenos.

CitationWarhammer 40,000: The Rules
The Warhammer 40,000 core rules have been revitalised with the new edition, changing the way that the game plays in numerous key ways. They are available to download for free, but this small hardback book is the ideal gaming companion. Just a touch smaller than A5 format, with a black ribbon page marker, it contains all 64 pages of the core rules… and nothing else. This product is only available from the Games Workshop webstore while stocks last.
Warhammer 40,000 Introductory Set
The Warhammer 40,000 Introductory Set is the complete beginner product for Warhammer 40,000. It includes five Infernus Marines, 10 Termagants, and a Ripper Swarm – all push-fit miniatures – plus clippers, a brush, and five paints to start your journey into building and painting. A 48-page introductory set handbook contains tutorials and basic missions to play using the game mat, dice, ruler, and tokens included. It’s the perfect gift for those just starting on their Warhammer 40,000 journey.
Warhammer 40,000 Starter Set
The Warhammer 40,000 Starter Set is great for getting into the game – it includes all the miniatures from the Introductory Set, and adds a Captain in Terminator Armour and five Terminators on the Space Marine side, facing off against a Winged Tyranid Prime, Psychophage, three Von Ryan’s Leapers, and 10 more Termagants and a Ripper Swarm.
The box contains simplified datasheets and a 64-page Warhammer 40,000 Starter Set Handbook, which features rules tutorials and training missions to get you started. You’ll also get a Space Marine transfer sheet with 849 decals, a playing mat, plus dice and a range ruler.
Plus, the miniatures inside this box almost add up to two full Combat Patrols. All you need is to pick up a Librarian in Terminator Armour for Space Marines or a unit of Barbgaunts for Tyranids, and you’re ready to play out a Combat Patrol game!
Warhammer 40,000 Ultimate Starter Set
For the ultimate beginning to the new edition of the game, the aptly named Warhammer 40,000 Ultimate Starter Set is a comprehensive introduction to Warhammer 40,000. This box contains everything that the Starter Set does, plus those six extra miniatures you need to make two full Combat Patrols of Space Marine and Tyranids. Then there’s terrain, consisting of an STC Hab Bunker and eight stockades, which can be set up on the two double-sided gaming boards included.
Much like the smaller sets, this box also contains a handbook, as well as a full Core Rules Booklet. This has all the core rules for the new edition and the rules for the fast and fun Combat Patrol mode, including six missions. You’ll also get dice, tokens, a range ruler, and a Space Marine transfer sheet.
Librarian in Terminator Armour
If you’re buying the Starter Set and want to increase your collection to full Combat Patrol size, or if you just want to snag this puissant and well-protected psyker, you’ll be able to pre-order him separately from next week. He can lead your units of Terminators to give them resistance to incoming psychic attacks, while manipulating reality to ensure they put out even more firepower in return.
Barbgaunts
Load up on five Barbgaunts to expand your Starter Set into a Tyranids Combat Patrol. The largest of the Gaunt genus to be identified by Imperial observers, these hunched creatures are slaves to their wriggling ganglio-parasites, unleashing volleys of explosive barbs from their bio-cannons.

The core rules and faction indexes for the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 are available to download for free right now, but it’s always useful to have a lovely physical copy to reference mid-game, flip through at home, and clobber unruly rivals. These tools comprise the bulk of this week’s pre-order, alongside a range of Blood Bowl rules and teams.
Warhammer 40,000 Core Book
Every edition comes with a hefty tome to start things off, and this one is no different. The Warhammer 40,000 Core Book is a weighty, 280-page hardback book that contains everything you need to start your journey into the grim darkness of the far future.
It contains dozens upon dozens of pages of lore and artwork detailing the history that underpins Warhammer 40,000 and the events unfolding across its dying stars, as well as faction focus sections with background info and miniature galleries. You’ll also get the core rules for the game, plus rules for playing Combat Patrol games – including six missions.

This incredible package, which is suffused with grim art, is limited to just 1,600 numbered copies, so you’ll want to act fast to secure yours.
Crusade: Tyrannic War
The Crusade game mode has been revamped, and you’ll even be able to update your existing campaigns for the new edition with free rules coming next week. This 184-page Crusade: Tyrannic War book provides the full new Crusade rules, then expands the experience with rules and missions that evoke the nightmarish Tyranid invasion at the heart of the Fourth Tyrannic War.
Bespoke Battle Traits, Crusade Relics, Crusade Blessings and Agendas feature alongside traits for Monster Hunters and Striding Behemoths – usable by any faction, not just the hungry Hive Mind and its Imperial prey – as well as 15 Tyrannic War Crusade Missions that tell the story of the Galactic West under attack by numerous Hive Fleets. There’s also plenty of background information detailing this invasion and the consequences for the Bastior Sub-sector.
Note that the printed contents of this book are the same as the Crusade section in the Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan Core Book – if you already bought Leviathan, you already have these rules and lore.
Crusade: Tyrannic War (Collectors’ Edition)
Indulge your love of Crusade with this Collectors’ Edition, which features a soft-touch cover with gold foil blocking, a black ribbon page marker, and all the same in-depth Crusade content as the regular version. Perfect for a real Crusade collector to commemorate the Fourth Tyrannic War.
Chapter Approved: Leviathan Mission Deck
Enter the world of matched play with the Leviathan mission deck, which contains the 66 cards you’ll need to generate and play Chapter Approved missions, plus rules for using them and a sheet of six cardboard objective tokens. Five Deployment cards work with nine Primary Mission cards and 12 Mission Rules cards to create over 400 different missions for you to play. Mix things up mid-game with 16 Attacker and 16 Defender Secondary Mission cards, as well as four Attacker and four Defender Gambit cards. It’s a quick and simple way to battle over unique and balanced missions.
These cards first appeared in Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan.
Warhammer 40,000 Index Cards
Next week you’ll also be able to pre-order a set of physical Index cards for every faction in Warhammer 40,000. These provide all the datasheets for that faction, plus their army rules and a themed Detachment. These are already available for free online in a regularly updated PDF format, but these physical cards give you a handy resource to use at the table and save time swiping through your phone or tablet.
