Beastmaster Can Sort You Out

Life on Necromunda is rat-eat-rat. The endless churn of back-stabbing and bursts of all-out gang warfare displace whole communities further and further into the underhive –deep into the forgotten places where vermin crawl, chitter, and gnaw.

But what if these vile critters were a help rather than a lethal hindrance? This ethos has kept the Outland Beastmasters in business for centuries.

NEC BeastmasterRipperjacks Dec19 Content

Using ancient animal husbandry wisdom handed down throughout history (and their trusty shock staves), Beastmasters tame the fauna of Necromunda to do their bidding. These pets include gigantic hive rats, rock-skinned millisaurs, and the adorable ripperjacks.

Beastmasters command these winged delights with animal calls, siccing them on unwary gangers for giggles and credits*. Should their pets fail to get the job done, their shock stave and sawn-off shotgun should be enough to finish the job.

NEC BeastmasterRipperjacks Dec19 Deets

Ripperjacks are such an ever-present threat on Necromunda that every ganger knows to check the ceiling of any dome they enter – there’s nothing worse than a skull full of teeth dropping on you!

Ripperjacks have the gift of Flight, and can also smother their targets with an Enveloping Attack. All that time spent living with ripperjacks has taught their Beastmasters a thing or two, and they get the Catfall skill to keep up with their leathery pals.

NEC BeastmasterRipperjacks Dec19 Rules Enveloping

Keep some credits aside – you’ll be able to hire the Outlander Beastmaster and a pair of cuddly ripperjacks soon.** All three are cast in resin.

Truly the two greatest reasons for doing anything on Necromunda.

** They’re the ones that do the cuddling.

When they’re not in battle, the Ash Wastes Nomad Herder takes care of their super-sized insects, including the burrowing terrors known as Arthromite Duneskuttlers.

NEC Duneskuttler Jan9 Image1

Unlike the Dustback Helamite cavalry, Duneskuttlers are vicious creatures that hunt for prey by burrowing into the treacherous sands of the Ash Wastes to ambush unwary passers-by.

NEC Duneskuttler Jan9 Image2

When they feel vibrations from above, they launch out of the sands in a blur of carapace and claw, dragging their catch down below. Left to their own devices, these vermin are deadly enough, but under the lash of a Nomad Herder, they become insectile shock troops.

Nomad Herders are experts in the arts of insect husbandry, siccing their chitinous charges on unsuspecting foes with a subtle gesture of their chitinous blade.

NEC Duneskuttler Jan9 Image3

Duneskuttlers make great hunting companions. Surviving in the deadly Ash Wastes has granted them a keen predatory instinct and a physiology that makes them Hard to Kill.

This tenacity and hardiness, coupled with a Herder’s Arthromite Whisperer skill, means an Ash Wastes Nomad War Party will be able to keep their Duneskuttler pet in the thick of the action for extended periods.

NEC Duneskuttler Jan9 Boxout

You’ll be able to add one of these scampering nasties and their handler to your Ash Waste Nomad gang soon. Sign up for our newsletter to find out when the Nomad Herders have finished taming their latest batch of insect pals.

Mercator Pallidus Corpse Harvesting Party

Unless you’re one of the hoity-toity noble folk in the upper hive, your average Necromunda lunch probably consists of recycled meat. Corpse Harvesting Parties are representatives of the Mercator Pallidus, the Corpse Guild, and as hangers-on they’re entirely happy to join your gangs for a quick supply run.

SundayPreview Jan15 NEC 01 CorpseHarvesters

This band of six resin miniatures can ally with any faction with ties to the Corpse Guild, or strike out on their own into the wastes to form an Outcasts Delegation Gang.

Rex Spires and Estus Jet

SundayPreview Jan15 NEC 02 Rex Estus

Hired Guns go where the money is, lending skills to any gangs who can afford them. Rex Spires took to the bounty hunting trade solely as a means to acquire more explosives – recklessly chasing the exhilaration of a good demolition – while Estus Jet sticks to the lawless zones, running rackets and killing anyone stupid enough to challenge her authority.

This pack contains two resin miniatures for use in Necromunda.

Ajex Gorgoth, Lord of the Fist

SundayPreview Jan15 NEC 03 Gorgoth

One of the most prolific Goliaths active on Necromunda, Ajex Gorgoth built his way up from nothing to rule the largest enclave of his kind in Hive Primus. This resin House Agent can be hired by Goliath gangs, and his massive strength and bulk overpower anything short of an ambull.

The Outland Beastmasters Are Back With More Bothersomely Burrowing Bug Buddies

Necromunda has a pest control problem. The Ash Wastes Nomads have whole warrens full of bugs they use as cavalry and employ to ambush trespassers, Cawdor sickos have been taming rats and strapping bombs to them for years, while Outland Beastmasters are now fraternising with nightmarish Ripperjacks.

If that weren’t enough, there are even more breeds of Beastmaster on the loose, and they’ve found some other nasty vermin to pal about with – Millisaurs.

NEC Millisaurs Jan16 Image1

These ichorous invertebrates were likely smuggled onto Necromunda centuries ago – courtesy of the planet’s lax import controls – to help clear debris and other critters from mining tunnels. Left unchecked, the voracious worms have by now spread across much of the planet, from outland ore-pits to underhive sump-nests.

Their rock-skinned hides make Millisaurs a nightmare to shift. Even worse, their ringed maw and robust digestive system allow them to chew through anything put in front of them, be that piles of rocks, metal bulkheads, or unlucky juves.

NEC Millisaurs Jan16 Image2
NEC Millisaurs Jan16 Image3

These beasties can easily Infiltrate any environment, and the Beastmasters who train them share the same skill, having learned to wriggle through the tunnels bored by their pets.

Gangers who think they can put the sturdy rockcrete floors of the hive between them and a hungry Millisaur are in for a rude awakening – their Burrowing skill lets them freely wriggle under impassable terrain.

NEC Millisaurs Jan16 Boxout1

Gangs can hire up to two Outland Beastmasters, each with a personal gaggle of beasts, so you can now infest the floor and the ceiling with an unpalatable one-two punch of Ripperjacks and Millisaurs.

This Beastmaster and his many-legged pets will be released in resin from Forge World, though they won’t be out for a few months yet. Sign up for the Warhammer Community newsletter to get the latest news from Necromunda sent straight to your inbox.

Ash Waste Nomads Herder with Arthromite Duneskuttler

SundayPreview Jan22 BeastHerder

The 41st Millennium has its own share of terrifying monsters, and down on Necromunda the Ash Waste Nomads delight in herding oversized insectile beasts towards the pernicious hive-dwellers who invade their lands. This particular resin Herder comes with one Arthromite Duneskuttler – a frightening amalgam of talons, tail, and bad attitude. The duo can be enlisted together as a Brute for your Ash Waste Nomad gangs.

He oui ça enchaine dur du coté de Forgeworld! Quel rythme soutenu.
